THE LENTEN FAST:

Every day of Lent, not
counting Sundays, is a day of fast. This law of the
Church binds all Catholics who are between the ages
of 21 and 59, unless excused due to a health condition.
The law of fast allows only one full meal, at which
meat may be taken, unless it is also a day of total
abstinence. Two smaller, meatless meals are permitted
which, if combined, do not equal or exceed the amount
taken at a normal main meal. There may be no eating
between meals
